St. John’s Episcopal Church, Lakeport, is on a mission to end hunger in our community and provide nutritious food to local children. Thanks to its partnership with Redwood Empire Food Bank, St. John's acquired over 6,500 pounds of food, including 4,000 pounds of fresh produce, with an estimated wholesale value of almost $10,000 in 2013-2014. The church paid just over $900 for the food; meaning for every $1 paid, it received an estimated $10.36 in value. Donations are always welcome: St. John's Episcopal Church, 1190 N. Forbes, Lakeport.
