As part of the Lenten discipline of prayer, fasting, and almsgiving, please consider offerings of nonperishable foods or monetary donations for the Food Closet. Donations of tuna, pasta and sauce, oatmeal, and other nutritious items are best. As we continue our outreach to the needy in our community, your donations are always appreciated and needed to sustain this vital service.

A video on the website explains how to vote. Whether or not you choose to explore the website, please pick up a booklet.

Volunteer opportunities at St. John’s Episcopal Church
If you’re friendly, frequent thrift stores, and have an hour or two to share, perhaps you’re just the person to volunteer in St. John’s Thrift Shop.
“Volunteers are needed, especially to help sort the overstock,” said Nancy Carter, thrift shop manager. “Even an hour or two would be appreciated.”
If you’re interested, leave a message for Carter at (707) 900-1777.
The church thrift shop is open Tuesday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the corner of Clearlake Ave. and North Forbes Street in Lakeport.
